Hello and welcome to another Handmade Monday (you'll find more info about Handmade Monday here).
This week I've struggled to find sewing time - mostly it's been quite late at night which - for me - isn't the best time to sew (tiredness and lack of natural light being the two main reasons). I can't really complain, though, because orders for my painted personalised gifts are what's keeping me busy. Still, I've managed to squeeze a bit of time in for the Sewing World rabbit ...
The deadline is looming very soon for this rabbit, and it needs to be clothed too. Twice in fact - I've promised a girl and boy version, although this particular rabbit will be a cross-dresser rather than two completely different rabbits. Now there's a first, surely?!
I hope to report s/he is finished, dressed (twice) and posted off for his/her photo shoot by this time next week - I think I'm running a little late on this one. I also need to write up the instructions and draw and scan the pattern pieces - although I wonder where the time is going to come from.
So, there may well be a little bit more rabbit-themed sewing this evening. The rabbit itself is almost finished (it just needs a hand-sewn nose and mouth then it's onto the clothes, which are still only in the rough draft stage) and I'm happy to report that the linen mix fabric is sewing up like a dream (I love the fabric so much I think I may treat myself to some more to make a pair of trousers in readiness for that Indian summer we're owed in lieu of a real one).
Over to you now - enjoy Handmade Monday and visiting all the amazing blogs linking up this week:
Your rabbit looks lovely. I like the pink lining of his/her ears. I find that I can only see to sew in the afternoons, so that is my sewing time and evenings is for knitting.
ReplyDeleteHe looks very good - like his pink ears. Hope you have a good week.
ReplyDeleteLooking good so far. I hate working late far better for me to get up early and I do mean early. Good Luck

Lovely rabbit, they're always a good subject as so many people love rabbits (me too!)
ReplyDeleteI make mine from wool blankets but so far they've all been girlies - not so good at boy clothes!
The little rabbit is looking good. Bet the outfits will be soooo cute. I like working with linen as well. I'm sure you will meet your deadline.
ReplyDeleteThat is one gorgeous bunny. The only time I can work is at night too, I'm dreading the Autumn evenings getting darker as I'm sure my Fimo pieces are going to come out very funny colours when I can't mix in the daylight!
ReplyDeleteThat bunny is looking at me... I wonder if he is checking whether he could move in? Cannot wait to see the finished item :)
ReplyDeleteThat rabbit is beyond cute. A woman of many talents.
ReplyDeleteI would consider emailing Mr Wells for the use of his time machine to get a few more hours. If you could lend it to me after too ;)

ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me join in. Just a quick heads up though. I can't see all the link ups on my iPhone. Looks like there are a few to the right but when I try and scroll it just takes me to the previous page. Is there a way to optimise it for mobile viewing?
