This Christmas in August lark sure has dragged on! I'm not complaining, though ... this is another commission for Craftseller magazine. I needed to make two Christmas cards for them using the free craft papers that they give away with the magazine.
When you are designing using free papers that aren't actually going to be published for a few months yet, they need to email you the papers, which you then of course print before you use them - exactly like using digital stamps and papers, really!
Some commissions are so much fun and this was one of them! I really enjoyed the process of chopping up paper and sticking it in place (it's kind of relaxing and therapeutic, I think). I introduced a bit of depth with some of the elements...
In other news, I'm thrilled with how the design team work for Handmade Harbour is coming together. There's a brand new weekly papercraft challenge started this week - in which I show off the design team's work first, but (a bit like Handmade Monday) anyone is welcome to join in by linking up!
I'm also interviewing the team one by one so you can meet them and find out more. Lynne and Zoe have been interviewed so far with more to come. I just love that this team brings together like-minded people from all over the world. And I love seeing my images becoming a part of someone else's creative project - it's just completely amazing!
I love what Lynne did with my beach huts digi stamp
(this card also makes the perfect antidote to Christmas in August!)
Over to you for Handmade Monday!

You must be the worlds best multi-tasker! I'm glad you are still enjoying everything you do, despite the fact that you are so busy x
Ah no! There are times it all comes crashing down! But yes, I do enjoy it! :-)
Crikey Wendy I thought I never stopped but I think you beat me on that score. I better start thinking about Christmas.............sigh.
oooh i'm loving the look of your Xmas themed paper crafting, it will be great to see your creations in their full glory when the mag comes out!
Its great to hear that things are working out so well with your new design team - i love seeing what they've created with your lovely stamps too so will be a frequent visitor to your mid week posts :) x
A mini tutorial from me this week. Hope some of you get inspired! Now off I go to see who's done what.
U lah lah! I can see some great Christmassy stuff made with lovely scrapbooking bit. Are the papers going to be Nordic again? (I do hope so!!!) I still treasure those from last year. I ran to buy the craftseller to have my own pack and was reluctant to cut them up! Too nice but there will be time for them too... one day
I'm looking to your craft challenges. Will there be any card challenges with card sketches too? (the same sort of thing like Monday Mojo blog and Freshly Made Sketches blog have? Would love to join in.
Part of me is really grateful that you have admitted to be struggling with time for a bit because you always seem to be so on top of everything and thus I feel that my muddling along is unusual (yes I know it is not the real picture but sometimes you go there!). It is great that you are so busy and buzzing with ideas. xx
You say you struggle but I for one would love your creativity.
I thi j you're doing a great job wth your team chices, they all seem to bring something fresh to the table and I'm looking forward to reading their interviews. Unsurprisingly , I've got a lot of middle of the night time free now to read blogs!
I can't wait to see the finished projects once craftseller comes out. I'm trying to muster up the confidence to have a go with your new midweek challenge, I just want to see what others do and how they blog it before I blunder along and get it all wrong!
You are such an inspiration Wendy. Being able to include our goings on in Handmade Monday already makes it feel like a conversation. Sounds like you really enjoyed your Christmas crafting. I started with Christmas in July and denial in August - it would seem the creative life is never a dull one. Thanks Cx
You seem to have been busy all right! I admire your being able to switch to Christmas mood with the lovely weather and all.
Oh, Christmas - I know I should start thinking about them, but it's so hard when the sun is so lovely and all you want to do is to be outdoors. But, I started, by sorting out all my Xmas inspiration resources and made few suppliers orders - so I'm probably on track...
Look forward to the tutorial in the next issue of Craftseller.
