Handmade Monday 138

Welcome to another Handmade Monday!

This week I had the pleasure of the company of my oldest granddaughter and we did some sewing.  Keira  absolutely loves using the sewing machine, and this little project gave her some practice in managing awkward curves!

We used the free gift that came with Craftseller - a little die-cut felt reindeer, designed to be stitched by hand.  Keira decided to keep the hand sewing to a minimum...but look, she's such a whiz on the sewing machine her hands are blurry!

She still hand stitched his eyes, nose and little felt holly trim.  He did end up with a few extra worry lines courtesy of the hand-stitched beady eyes (and some enthusiastic finishing-off stitches) but that's OK - he has every right to worry at this time of year!

I think her Rudolf looks super - he'll look amazing on the tree this year!

What's happening in your handmade world?  Has anyone else been making tree decorations or crafting with kids?

She has done a great job. I gave the same little kit to my daughter this morning, so will show her your post to get her going.

Aww that Reindeer's so cute. I like the 'sketchy' effect from the sewing machine, think it makes it look extra nice & 'arty' :)

I haven't made up my Rudolph yet, sewing machines scare me so I'll be hand sewing him soon. You have a talented granddaughter, her Rudolph is gorgeous xx

There are lots of miles to cover over Christmas so no wonder Rudolph as a few worry lines, he looks adorable.

I haven't made my rudolph yet, but he looks stunning with the machine stitching. I'm considering sewing some Christmas decorations this year, if I get round to it!

Keira is a real talented stitcher. Tell her her rudolf is just gorgeous and I am really impressed she managed the sewing machine so well! I am also very impressed by the pair of you: this week-end I was only tackling Halloween decorations with the kids!

Rudolph looks fantastic. What a pleasure it must be to teach your grand kids sewing. I can wait to teach my boy to crochet. If he's interested that is.
